Emerging Vehicle Scam Alert – Northolt, Greenford & Ruislip 

We are aware of an emerging scam targeting drivers in the Northolt, Greenford, and Ruislip areas.

What’s happening?
A male driver flashes his headlights repeatedly to get other motorists to stop. Once the victim pulls over, he falsely claims that they have damaged his wing mirror, then intimidates them and demands cash on the spot.

This is a fraudulent and intimidating tactic. Do not give money under these circumstances.

What should you do?

· Do not stop if you are flashed repeatedly by another driver and there is no clear reason to do so.

· If you feel unsafe or suspect a scam, stay in your vehicle, keep doors locked, and drive to a safe, well-lit location.

· Do not hand over cash or agree to any on-the-spot payment.

· If you believe you have genuinely been involved in a collision, exchange details as required by law and report through official channels—not roadside cash settlements.

· Stay alert: Scammers often use intimidation to pressure quick decisions.
